If Only I Were the Wind By Bing Hua Translated By Liu Mei 如果我是风 作者 冰花 英译 柳湄 If Only I Were the Wind By Bing Hua Translated By Liu Mei If only I were the wind I would fly to Spring To blow the withered grass green And blow the buds blooming So that I could enjoy my sound sleep in the floral scent If only I were the wind I would fly to the sea To blow the waves dancing trippingly And waken up the morning sunglow So that I could hear the seawater Sing a cappella with the first rays If only I were the wind I would fly and fly To linger on his shoulders If only I were the wind I would blow and blow, Till my tender love dips into his heart It’s simply because He is my Spring My Grand Sea My Future Distance And my Justification How I wish I were The wind
Top reviews from the United States KH 5.0 out of 5 stars Buy and smell the aroma of this February’s Rose! Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2024 Verified Purchase Bing Hua is one of my favorite Chinese poets. Her poetry is simple yet rich—simple to invite readers to read, yet rich in feelings and images. A good example is the poem "A Hand Fan:" “One side is spring, the other autumn.” Another good one is "Your Leaves and My Water:" “Your leaves / Have fallen into my yard / My water / Has wetted your lawn.” These words draw readers in and explore new realm of experiences. Bing Hua also has a magic way to express love through different seasons. She puts just enough ingredients to make her lines “taste” and “smell” good. Mr. Xu did a very good job to catch the 100 poems’ essences and styles in his translation. I highly recommend this book especially in this season.
