The Masquerade

Image
The Masquerade By Bing Hua (Rose Lu)  At the masquerade You were the prince And I the Snow White. When your soft hand touched my waist My blue melancholy Became a plume of smoke Rising from the dance floor. When the bell tolled at midnight you departed with a backward glance, Leaving me A mask of love On the long stairs A red rose Waiting to bloom The Masquerade At the masquerade You were the prince And I the Snow White. When your soft hand touched my waist My blue melancholy Became a plume of smoke Rising from the dance floor. When the bell tolled at midnight you departed with a backward glance, Leaving me A mask of love On the long stairs A red rose Waiting to bloom

That Summer

Image
That Summer   Rose Lu Having a pink one-piece on,   Eyebrow long fringe,   ears short hair And long eyelashes Reading two pools of water Without lips licking And pondering rouge I put on a pair of pink silk stockings And a pair of tee-strap sandals Left home without telling anybody To look for him quietly,   And sitting silent to wait In the little lane where he might appear He came And my cheeks turned crimson red At a loss what to do I said something that made no sense at all He left And strings of crystal clear tears Spattered on the ground

Salute   By Bing Hua (Rose Lu)  The air from the Wobo bridge Fluttered the girl's fringes of hair The scent of lilacs Got the boy's jacket drunk The two braids like two buds, Not yet in bloom, but were so charmingly beautiful, In her green school bag Was a red diary Where there were two painted butterflies in flight I would salute you deeply If my bygone figure often Flashes across your blue memory Note: Wobo Bridge refers to a bridge located in South Lake Park in Shenyang. China.

Rose Lu ( Bing Hua) Poem

Image
Letters 信 Letters By Bing Hua (Rose Lu)  Every morning at 9, The mail arrival time, My heart full of expectation would stand still What I look forward to is not a love letter, nor a letter from home But one from a friend who lives by Yangtze river Coming out of the envelopes Are white sails And flying seagulls The white sails cut open the sea surface While the seagulls struggle with the gale. The sound of the sails And the squawks of seagulls Are the resonance of our hearts The sails moving toward the horizon The seagulls flying up the sky Both Carry my ocean of love
